A multilingual mobile news app for a major Iraqi media organisation, published on the App Store and Google Play with offline reading and push notifications.
Overview
I developed and launched a multilingual mobile news application for Shafaaq News, a prominent Iraqi media organisation, using React Native and Redux. The app was published on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Key features
Offline-first architecture using Redux-persist meant readers could access previously loaded articles without a network connection — an important feature given inconsistent connectivity in the target region. Push notifications via Google Firebase drove re-engagement by surfacing breaking news in real time.
Outcome
The app shipped to production on both major mobile platforms and served as the primary mobile channel for the news organisation's multilingual readership.
